Carappoli's Family Restaurant is tucked away in the southwest corner of Delaware Plaza, next door to the Hidden Cafe. This Italian American restaurant is open six days a week serving lunch and dinner. The lunch menu offers burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The dinner menu offers pasta & saute specialties, parmigianas, chicken, veal, seafood, steaks, salads, and appetizers. Dinner pasta & saute dishes are also served after 12PM. The dinner prices are moderate, entrees in the $9.95-$18.95 range. Lunch items are under $11. A children's menu (12 & under) is available and daily specials are offered. For seniors, they offer a $12.99 special which includes choice of entree, soup or salad, and a drink. My folks would qualify for the discount.
While I was shopping at Delaware Plaza, I decided to have dinner at Carappoli's since I wanted some Italian food. I arrive here around 5:15 PM on a Saturday evening and I could sit anywhere I'd like. The dining room is cozy with table seating (linen covered with plate glass surface) and framed colorful prints on the walls.
I decided on the Chicken Sinatra ($14.95) served with soup or salad and basket of warm bread. The bread was very good, soft and chewy. The bowl of pasta fagioli was excellent which had small macaroni rings, beans, sausage in a tasty tomato based broth. As I was waiting for my dinner, I could see entrees such as lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and big bowls of baked pasta, which looked very tasty, being served to other diners. The salads however, looked very standard and typical, so I was very glad I chose soup.
The Chicken Sinatra entree arrived to my table in about 10 minutes (I thought it would take longer). This entree was outstanding, which had grilled chicken layered with roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, sliced eggplant, and prosciutto over angel hair pasta in a white wine sauce. The plate was cleaned, very filling food, so I skipped dessert.
My food was served in a very timely and efficient manner. The waitress checked up on me a couple times, but said very little. Two other servers also checked up on me during dinner and cleared my dishes.
I highly recommend this hidden strip plaza gem for great Italian American cuisine at a fair price. I must have one of those parmigiana dishes next time.

Italian food and so much more

I went in to Carappoli's to have lunch with family, the food was marvelous and the portions were more than enough for lunch.
If you are looking for a nice place to have a meal, this is it. Make sure you stop in for breakfast too, my understanding is they have just expanded their hours to serve breakfast, where else can you get a lunch special for $6, not Mc Donalds...and why would you go there when the food is so much better here!
Eat at Carappoli's and ENJOY!
