Shady Grove Bistro

Greetings!  Welcome to the Shady Grove Bistro, and our Winter 2012 season! Here you can find out the dates and the times of the Bistro and what delicious meal we will be serving. Every Wednesday, resuming January 18th, the Bistro opens its doors to the Shady Grove UMC and the Richmond, Virginia community for a homemade feast and fellowship.  Everyone is welcome, and everyone is well fed!

This season's theme is "Get Your Kicks, on Route 66."  Let's all pile into our old AirStream trailers, pack up the party string lights and pink flamingos, and head west, on Route 66.  The Bistro team has been studying up on the restaurant fare from old Route 66's iconic diners, drive-ins, and dives.  And also the food heritage of the states we'll be passing through - did you know that Oklahoma actually has an officially designated  "state meal"?  We've planned a menu that will be yummy and fun.  We'll experience the traditional foods of Missouri, New Mexico, and Arizona.  There will be Chili in Texas, and those famous Chicago Hot Dogs in Illinois.   We can't promise a giant, rotating bucket of chicken, or 40 foot tall teepee, but we'll definitely have some fun, great food, and fellowship as we journey together. 

Let's get our kicks, on Route 66.  Come on by, we'll be waiting for you with a hot plate and big smiles!
